General comments
Chirurgische drainage is de belangrijkste therapeutische handeling. Antibiotische therapie zal, indien nodig, gegeven worden op geleide van Grampreparaat en kweek. Een acute post-operatieve mediastinitis met sepsis zal vaak veroorzaakt worden door een Staphylococcus aureus.
